Common Management Aptitude Test


All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducts National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) twice a year. Candidate can give this test for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE. Generally the exam is held twice a year in the months of Feb and Sept. The better of two scores will be used for admission for 2014-15


AICTE has now decided to conduct CMAT in Foreign Countries for eligible NRIs and foreign nationals to appear in CMAT for seeking admission in India following CMAT merit list for 2015-16 under special provisions defined in AICTE Approval Process and against all vacancies left after completion of centralized admission in management institutions.



ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING IN CMAT 2014- 2015









  • Recognized Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 Years duration Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC, ST and OBC) at the qualifying Examinatio
  • In case of foreign nationals the eligibility will be as per recognition and equivalence standards notified by Association of Indian Universities


  • Examination pattern for CMAT 2014- 2015

     Type of exam- CMAT 2014- 2015 will be a computer based aptitude test .

     Total number of Question - 100

     Total Time Duration - 2 hours or 120 minutes

     Correct attempt- 4 marks for each correct answer 

     Incorrect attempt- negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer

    • Logical Reasoning- Logical Reasoning question to check the applicant ability to ratiocinate and evaluate problems. like solve clock, calendars binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relation and other logical sequence.

    • Language Comprehension-In this section question will be from Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability .to test the ability to comprehend text and influenced by their traits and make inferences.

    • Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation-Number system, geometry, trigonometry,probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages,profit and loss,quadratic and linear equations,etc.Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, table, graphs, venn diagram, chart and etc.

    • General Awareness-In this section question will be from General Knowledge, Current Affairs & Business Scenario

    CMAT 2014- 2015 Important Date

     Registration Date - 3rd July - 1st September 2014

    Availability of printed hall ticket - From 12th September 2014

    Computer based Test Dates - 25th September- 29th September 2014

    Test Timings-9:30 am - 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

    Declaration of Result- 30th October 2014

    Availability of printed score card- 30th October- 30th November 2014
